- Bay'at: A pledge of allegiance to a spiritual guide, creating a bond between the guide and the disciple.
- Muraqabah: Spiritual contemplation and connection with the Divine.
- Tafakkur: Contemplation or reflection, especially on spiritual realities.
- Nafs: The ego or lower self, which often acts as an obstacle to spiritual growth.
- Khidmat: Service to others done out of love and devotion, a key aspect of the path.
- Hosh Dar Dam: The Naqshbandi principle of being conscious of the breath.
- Nazar Bar Qadam: The Naqshbandi principle of watching one’s step, focusing on the heart and the path.
