Job Summary:
Simply Iman Cloud University is seeking a highly qualified and articulate Instructor in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) with in-depth knowledge of Islamic Law according to the Ahle Sunnah wal Jama'ah tradition. The Instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging online courses in Fiqh, covering various areas of Islamic law relevant to daily life for English-speaking Muslims. This role involves curriculum development, creating self-paced course materials, and teaching instructor-led live online sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Course Design:
- Develop comprehensive and practically-oriented curriculum for online courses in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) aligned with Ahle Sunnah methodologies and the university's mission.
- Create detailed course outlines, learning objectives, and lesson plans that address contemporary issues and practical applications of Fiqh for English-speaking Muslims.
- Design assessment strategies (case studies, scenario analysis, quizzes, assignments) to effectively measure student understanding and application of Fiqh principles.
- Ensure curriculum content is accurate, authentic, and reflects the nuanced legal opinions and scholarly rigor of the Ahle Sunnah tradition.
Self-Paced Course Creation:
- Develop high-quality, engaging self-paced online course materials in Fiqh, including:
- Video lessons (lectures, explanations of legal principles, case studies, etc.)
- Downloadable resources (reading materials, legal texts excerpts, case studies, glossary of Fiqh terms, etc.)
- Interactive exercises, quizzes, and practical scenarios to test understanding and application of Fiqh.
- Ensure self-paced course content is clear, accessible, pedagogically sound, and relevant to the practical needs of online learners.
Instructor-Led Teaching (Live & Hybrid):
- Teach instructor-led online courses and workshops in Fiqh via live webinars, interactive sessions, and potentially hybrid formats (if applicable).
- Deliver engaging and effective live instruction in areas such as the rules of worship (Ibadat), family law (Usrah), financial transactions (Muamalat), and contemporary Fiqh issues.
- Facilitate interactive learning environments, encourage student participation in discussions and case analyses, and provide personalized guidance and feedback during live sessions.
- Prepare and deliver supplementary materials and resources for live Fiqh sessions.
Content Review & Quality Assurance:
- Review and update course content regularly to ensure accuracy, relevance to contemporary issues, and alignment with current best practices in online Fiqh education and Ahle Sunnah scholarship.
- Participate in curriculum review processes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Fiqh course offerings.
Student Engagement & Support:
- Actively engage with students in online course forums and during live sessions, addressing Fiqh-related questions, clarifying complex legal concepts, and fostering a respectful scholarly environment.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and inquiries related to Fiqh.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- Formal Islamic education with specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) (e.g., Shahada Alimiyya, advanced degrees in Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Islamic Law).
- Expertise in one or more of the established Ahle Sunnah Madhahib (Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) and a strong understanding of comparative Fiqh.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Islamic Studies, Law, or related field is preferred but not mandatory if expertise is demonstrable through other means.
Experience:
- Significant experience teaching Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) to English-speaking students, demonstrating the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and practically.
- Experience developing and delivering online courses and educational materials in Islamic Studies or related fields is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to teach Fiqh effectively in English, addressing contemporary issues and providing practical guidance relevant to modern Muslim life.
Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth and comprehensive knowledge of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) across various areas (Ibadat, Muamalat, Usrah, etc.) according to Ahle Sunnah methodologies and scholarly traditions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret and apply Fiqh principles to contemporary issues.
- Excellent English language skills (written and verbal) for clear, nuanced, and scholarly communication and instruction in Fiqh.
- Experience using online learning platforms and video conferencing tools for teaching.
- Passion for Islamic Law and a desire to empower English-speaking Muslims with practical Fiqh knowledge.
